Diet rich in fruit and vegetable, helps fight the risk of chronic inflammation


New Delhi: Onions, turmeric, red grapes, green tea help reduce the effect of Chronic Inflammation. The Chronic Inflammation occurs naturally in the body, but when it goes off beam or goes on too long, it can generate disease. Inflammation is dangerous and causes diseases like cancer, heart attack or heart diseases, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.Now the University of Liverpool's Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease has identified food stuffs that can help prevent chronic inflammation. Diets rich in fruits and vegetables protect against age-related inflammation and chronic diseases.

Communication from cell to cell

There are abundant of small Polyphenol in our daily rich diet and is evident from the fact that, it helps in the prevention of diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The effects of polyphenols depend on the amount consumed and on their bioavailability. There are two types of blood cell in our body that is white blood cell and red blood cell. T-cells, or T-lymphocytes, are a type of white blood cell that circulates around our bodies, for cellular abnormalities and infections. Communication to immune system response and stimulate the movement of cells towards sites of inflammation, infection and trauma. Cytokines are modulated by fruit and vegetable.

University's Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease examined the different potencies of the polyphenols.  "The results of our study suggest that (poly)phenols derived from onions, turmeric, red grapes, green tea and açai berries may help reduce the release of pro-inflammatory mediators in people at risk of chronic inflammation” said by Sian Richardson.
