Didn’t tell reporter I want devaluation says Nirmala Sitharaman


The administration sent blended messages on Thursday whether it needed a weaker rupee, with Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman saying she had not told a correspondent the legislature was talking about a downgrading yet holding back before a by and large dissent.

 "I had no discussion on depreciation of any money with any news reporter. Any quotes/notice alluding to me on this subject ridiculous," Sitharaman said in a tweet in light of reports that her area of expertise had required a debasement.
