Delhi: Woman set on fire, 3 accused arrested


New Delhi: On Sunday a 25-year-old woman suffered grave burn injuries when three men decanted kerosene over her and set her afire. Three of the woman's family members were also wounded while trying to save her. The occurrence happened in northwest Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy.

Police has also further conveyed that, the main accused, Abhishek, had been trying to force the woman into marrying him, but had unsuccessful to get her nod regardless of numerous efforts. On Sunday night, Abhishek and two other men arrived at the woman's house where they had a conversation with her family associates.

Amid this, one of them went to the kitchen where the woman was cooking and poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. The wounded were hurried to a nearby hospital. The woman was afterward referred to the Safdarjung Hospital, where her situation is set to be serious as she has suffered more than 70% burns. DCP north-west Vijay Singh has also further conveyed that, we have detained the three men and filed a case of attempt to murder. The woman's relatives conveyed they had registered a case against Abhishek former as well.
