New Delhi : The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has resumed its bus service from New Delhi to Leh. The non-stop bus service will cover the 1,050 km distance in 33 hours and will cost Rs 1,365 for a person. Since the route is through four really high mountains passes, vehicles can't move in the period when the region is snowbound (usually from October to May or June).
A luxury bus service linking the town of Manali in Himachal Pradesh with Leh is now slated to restart from July 1, more than six months after it was discontinued in the winters. The 35-seater bus will leave Manali at 11am every alternate day and will arrive in Leh the next evening after covering 475 km, as per the reports.
