New Delhi: A teacher and her male friend have been arrested on Wednesday for allegedly murdering a 30-year-old man in a case of apparent love triangle in north Delhi's Gandhi Vihar. The victim, Rahul, was killed on Thursday night at a park and police recovered his body on Saturday morning.
According to police, Rahul was in a relationship with Shiv Kumari. Later, he came to know that Kumari, in her 30s, was also involved with 35-year-old Mohammad Wasir, a soft drink supplier. Rahul had then threatened Wasir to stay away from Kumari. "Kumari met Rahul in February this year when she was teaching at a private school in Sangam Vihar, Burari. Rahul had joined the school as a van driver," said Madhur Verma, DCP, north.
"They soon got involved in a relationship. Kumari often used to help Rahul with his monetary issues. Recently, Rahul had an argument with the school's principal and was terminated from the job. He then planned to buy a car and asked for Kumari's help, to which she agreed," Verma added.
In June, Rahul met Wasir. Police said that Rahul had also borrowed Rs 22,000 from Wasir. "Rahul had introduced Wasir to Kumari. Soon, Wasir started visiting her house frequently," the DCP added.
On Thursday, Kumari asked Rahul to come to the park, where Wasir and one of his friends, Ganja, were already present. "Wasir strangled Rahul with his tracksuit's string. When he collapsed, Wasir slit his throat with a knife," Verma said. Police are searching for Ganja.
