Delhi Police lodged FIR on government complaint over Missing Ishrat Jahan papers


In context of Ishrat Jahan Case, an FIR has been lodged by Delhi Police over five documents that went missing from Union Home Ministry’s file.

The FIR has been registered under IPC Section 409 on a complaint by an undersecretary in the ministry. On 26 August, officer alleged Delhi Police Commissioner that the FIR was registered at the Parliament Street police station on September 22.

It was also written in the FIR that the ‘Documents and valuable securities (affidavit)’ are recorded as “stolen”.

On September 2009, The five missing documents pertain to the controversial second affidavit filed by the Home Ministry under the UPA government in the Gujarat High Court, on September 29, 2009.

 The case will be heard in the high court by Ishrat’s mother Shamima Kausar.
