Delhi: Health Minister Satyendar Jain’s daughter resigns from advisor’s post


New Delhi: Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain’s daughter, who was as an advisor in the Delhi government for the mohalla clinic project, has resigned from the post after a controversy regarding her appointment. Soumya was appointed on an honorary basis, her appointment had nonetheless invited criticism from the opposition parties who had accused the AAP government of nepotism. The criticism was also based on the fact that Soumya was an architect and had no experience in public health.

After that resigns jain said “My daughter has resigned and now I demand that the BJP make all those people, who are related to ministers, resign from the posts they are holding. Many such relatives are not just appointed, they are also drawing fat salaries,” Jain added that as an architect, Soumya was to help the government design Mohalla Clinics.

He reiterated that she was not supposed to receive any salary or other benefits in the honorary position. The Arvind Kejriwal government has of now set up 100 Mohalla Clinics it's aim is to establish 1,000 such facilities by March-end next year.
