Delhi to get more land for housing


On Tuesday, As per a gazette notification issued the Urban Development Department followed up on the request of Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal to change over 89 rustic towns, 50 and 39 under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation and the North Delhi Municipal Corporation individually, to urban.

The decision had been pending for around two years as the Aam Aadmi Party government requested that it be given 10% of the land for making schools and doctor’s facilities. Arrive in Delhi is controlled by the Lieutenant-Governor, and by expansion the Center.

A senior AAP government official said on Wednesday that the choice to change over the towns to urban ranges had been taken without the assent of the elected representatives.
