Delhi: Cousin murdered girl to cut down daily expenses


NEW DELHI: The cousin of 19-year-old girl assassinated at her house in Madhu Vihar on Monday to cut down daily expenses.

The name of accused has identified as Tapas Burman.

When she was kid, her uncle Lakhi had adopted her. He is a craftsman at a factory near Hasanpur in east Delhi and recognized as her own father. His son took the decision to kill her to reduce daily expenses.

Accused Burman reached to her room on Monday and murdered her after putting radio on high volume. Later, he suffocated her with a pillow. He attempted to make it look similar to suicide and later scream out for a help. At the time of suicide, her mother was not at home. When she reached to the home, she recovered her lying dead on the bed. Later, she notified the matter to police officials.

“We got suspicious about Tapas as he gave conflicting articulations. Amid cross examination, he admitted to having choked her with a chunni. An instance of murder was enrolled against him,” said DCP (east) Omvir Singh.

“The young lady additionally used to have contentions every now and again with his mom and spouse over local issues. Every one of these elements consolidated persuaded him to make the arrangement to murder her,” Singh said.
