Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal performed seva at Golden Temple early on Monday morning.
As the AAP party is facing controversy from past two- three weeks due to youth manifesto, Kejriwal cleaned all the utensils that were present at Golden Temple.
AAP spokesperson Ashish Khetan, who was charged under Section 295-A by the Amritsar police, also joined him.
He went to Amritsar to apologize for the party’s “unintentional mistake”.
Around 3.40 am, he reached to the shrine's Sri Guru Ramdas Langar Hall with their party members and performed sewa like other devotees. They washed utensils and later attended ardas.
Before leaving, they also attended Gurbani kirtan and walked the Parikarma.
After releasing the party’s youth program on July 3, Khetan was charged for associating it with Guru Granth Sahib, Bible, Gita and the Koran.
Moreover, AAP party was criticized for the title page of the manifesto, which carried a picture of the Golden Temple with the AAP poll symbol.
Ashish Khetan also reached to Golden Temple on Monday morning and surprised everyone from AAP party as observers believed that he would not attend the sewa to avoid any chance of being arrested.
AAP party people who were during the sewa were state affairs head Sanjay Singh, state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Supreme Court lawyer H.S. Phoolk and Punjab Dialogue Committee chairman Kanwar Sandhu and his team that had prepared the controversial manifesto.
