Delhi AAP lawmaker Naresh Yadav sent to judicial custody till August 1


Chandigarh, July 27: In context of Quran sacrilege incident, Aam Aadmi Party member Naresh Yadav was taken into custody on Wednesday till August 1 by the Punjab High Court.  

On Sunday, Naresh Yadav was detained by the Punjab Police from Mehrauli area while he was addressing media at his Delhi office. However, he was also presented in the court from Chandigarh

Yadav was taken into police custody for two days by the court. He was considered as a "mastermind" in the Quran sacrilege conspiracy.

On July 9, for over eight hours police interrogated Yadav in link with the Quran desecration incident on June 24.

Another AAP member Vijay Kumar claimed that he paid Rs 1 crore by Yadav for the act.

The charges were put against Vijay Kumar, Gaurav and Nand Kishore in context of the Quran. AAP members said that they belonged to the right-wing Hindu organisation Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
