NEW DELHI: A 38-year-old partly paralysed man was shot dead and his wife seriously wounded when two unrecognized men barged into their house in southwest Delhi’s Bijwasan and started firing on them. Police officials have also further conveyed that, principal investigation points towards a property quarrel, which led to the murder.
They conveyed that the indicted were hired to kill Rana, who was a property dealer. At 4.15pm, the indicted visited Rana’s house on the excuse of renting a room in his house. When Rana, who was suffering from paralysis, came out with the help of his wife Lalita, the blamed first got into an argument with Rana and following about 10 minutes, took out country-made pistols and commenced fire on the couple.
“They fired three rounds out of which one each hit Rana and Lalita. As the couple distorted on the floor, bleeding copiously, the indicted fled. When Rana’s sister-in-law, who was there in the house at the time of the occurrence, lifted an alarm and gathered neighbors, who called up the police.
The fatalities were hurried to the AIIMS trauma centre, where Rana was affirmed dead on arrival and his wife’s situation was stated to be serious. Rana’s body has been sent for postmortem. Police has also further conveyed that, beginning investigations exposed that Rana was involved in a property dispute over his house.
Senior officers conveyed that probe has revealed that the murderers were hired by someone known to Rana. “We have possible leads and the indicted will be detained soon. A case of murder has been filed at Kapashera police station.
Surender Kumar, DCP southwest has also further conveyed that, the scoundrels and the main accused behind the murder have been recognized and police squads are raiding their possible hideouts. Police also questioning other family members and Rana’s colleagues to know if he had any personal enmity with anyone. CCTV footage of the area is also being scrutinized to recognize the killers.
