Delhi: 23-yr-old woman sexually assaulted by taxi driver


New Delhi: A shocking incident occurred early on Tuesday in the capital when a 23-yr-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a taxi driver in his taxi at Golden Jubilee Park near Red Fort. Police officials conveyed that, the accused 30-yr-old Chunnu Kumar was arrested.

The woman alleged that the accused sexually assaulted her on excuse of dropping her to a bus stand from where she could go to Ludhiana. Police officials conveyed that the complainant asserted following reaching her brother’s house in Noida, on September 11 she reached the New Delhi Railway Station at night and bought a ticket of a Ludhiana-bound train.

The train was planned to leave at about 4.30 am on September 12. Police further added that she came out of waiting room of station at about 2 am and the taxi driver Kumar begins conversation with her.

Woman conveyed that the accused lied her that the train has been cancelled and offered her to drop at the bus stand so that she could leave to Ludhiana.

Police further conveyed that the accused took her to the Golden Jubilee Park near Red Fort and sexually assaulted her. He later dropped her at the Old Delhi Railway Station and ran away.
