Death toll reaches to 450 in Iran Earthquake, rescue operators finishes operation


The death toll in Iran earthquake has reached to 450 today. The Iran stated on Tuesday that evacuations have finished in areas strike by a strong earthquake that lost the lives of nearly 450 people and wounded several others.

7.3 Magnitude Earthquake hits Iran-Iraq Border, 135 Dead

“The evacuations in the (western) Kermanshah province have finished,” Pir-Hossein Kolivand, head of Iran’s Emergency Medical Services stated.

The magnitude of earthquake was 7.3 that struck villages and towns in the Kermanshah province of Iran. Nearly 14 provinces in Iran were badly affected due to tragedy.

“It is a very cold night… we need help. We need everything. The authorities should speed up their help,” a victim said.

On Monday, Iran’s top authority Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei articulated his pity over the tragedy and asked government agencies for necessary measures.

The photographs of incident have gone viral on the social media. Iranian officials affirmed the probability of looking out any more survivors were very less.

The video footage on social media showcased hundreds of critically wounded people in hospitals.

 “People in some villages are still in dire need of food, water and shelter,” governor of Qasr-e Shirin Faramarz Akbari told state television.

Over 30,000 houses in Iran were destroyed and nearly two villages were completely broken, Iranian authorities stated.

“More people will die because of cold. My family lives in a village near Sarpol-e Zahab. I cannot even go there. I don’t know whether they are dead or alive,” Rojan Meshkat, 38 asserted.
