Daddy movie trailer out, Arjun Rampal featured in gangster-turned-politician role


Bollywood Actor Arjun Rampal who was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor starrer film ‘Roy’ will now be featured in political crime-drama Daddy. The trailer of upcoming film has been released and Rock On actor is looking most suitable in a role of gangster-turned politician.

The trailer of upcoming film showcases that the movie has been shot in the backdrop of 1970s when Mumbai mills were nailed down, depriving several workers from their source of business. Due to poverty like situation, the worker starts doing crimes. In the upcoming film, Rampal essays character of a slum dweller who was being enforced to carry out crime.

‘Daddy’ film stars Arjun Rampal in the lead role. He plays a role of Arun Gawli, a gangster-turned-politician. Few days back, the poster of film was released by the filmmakers. It featured Arjun Rampal in hair and beard look.

“The story is about Gawli, a man who scripted his own destiny, eventually going on to become one of India’s most feared mobsters. Now, he remains an enigmatic figure; at once a volatile, power-hungry gangster for some and the venerated ‘Daddy’ or a modern day Robin Hood for the working-class neighbourhood he belongs to,” statement stated.

Daddy also stars Farhan Akhtar and Aishwarya Rajesh. The film is directed by Ashim Ahluwalia and it is produced by Arjun Rampal and Rutvij Patel.

Daddy is slated to hit the theatres on 21 July.
