Coolpad Mega launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system at Rs 6,999


Coolpad Group Limited is a Chinese telecommunications Equipment Company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. It is large Smartphone Company in China and largest Chinese domestic brand by sales outside of China. From January to June 2012, the company had a market share of shipments of 10.4%.

Coolpad launched the Mega 2.5D selfie-focused Smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 6,999 on Wednesday. The Smartphone will be available in its first flash sale exclusively via Amazon India at 2pm, August 24, with registrations kicking off from Wednesday itself – at 5pm.

The Smartphone sports a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 294ppi, 2.5D curved glass, and a 73-percent screen-to-body ratio. The Smartphone has 8MP rear and front camera. While the rear camera comes with Sony sensor and auto-focus support, the front camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and 83 degree field of view to capture large groups.

Coolpad Mega 2.5D comes with 4G-enabled dual-sim support and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Cool UI 8.0 layer on the top. Coolpad Mega has a 5.5-inch IPS display with 2.5D Curve glass. Powering the handset is a 1GHz quad-core processor paired with 3GB RAM. It offers 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 32GB using a microSD card. The Smartphone is powered by a 2500mAh battery that's rated to deliver up to 9 hours of talk time, and 200 hours of standby time. The Mega 2.5D weighs 140 grams, and is 7.85mm thick.

Coolpad is touting several features of its custom UI, including theme support, smart pattern unlock, and more.
