Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane resigned from the Congress party on Thursday.
He alleged the party for going back on a promise of making him the CM of Maharashtra.
“The Congress did not know to utilize me. They are not interested in growing as a party. .. What will you remove me from the party, I myself am quitting the party. Today the Congress will come to know my importance how from every district people will quit the party, ” said Rane.
He is expected to join the BJP, but the idea does not seem feasible to Shiv Sena, as per the reports.
“A lot of people are with me… I will finish the Congress and the Shiv Sena. This is a first for the Congress that the entire district committee has agreed to step down,” Rane said.
Congress leader Hussain Dalwai reacted on Rane’s decision and said, “Narayan Rane was at the BJP doorstep for the last six months. I wish him good luck. But he has made a mistake.”
