Pune: On Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reported that a group of Airports Authority of India has given last endorsement to a proposed site for the Pune International Airport in Purandar tehsil of the locale.
“The group of AAI, which had directed practicality review of proposed area in Purandar tehsil, has given its endorsement and AAI has concurred that the area is appropriate. Since the endorsement has come, we will now begin the further procedure and we are cheerful that the nearby individuals too are sure about the airplane terminal,” he said.
The legislature will now hold a meeting with Maharashtra Airport Development Authority, Fadnavis said. At first, the state government was thinking about Khed teshil for the airplane terminal and AAI had completed review of two locales there. Nonetheless, later the center moved to Purandar tehsil.
