China Blocks Pilgrims, Claims Indian Troops Crossed Border, Blocks Pilgrims


China today blamed Indian troops for “crossing the limit” in the Sikkim locale and requested their prompt withdrawal, while stating that it has closed down the Nathu La pass section for Indian pilgrims travelling to Kailash Mansarovar due to the outskirt standoff.

China additionally said that it haslodged diplomatic protests with India, both in New Delhi and Beijing, charging that the Indian troops trespassed into Chinese domain in the Sikkim division.

“We have held up grave portrayals in Beijing and New Delhi to expand on our solemn position,” Chinese Foreign Ministry representative, Lu Kang told a media on Tuesday.

“Our position to maintain our territorial sovereignty is unwavering. We trust the Indian side can work with China in a similar bearing and quickly pull back the staff who have violated and trespassed into Chinese border,” he said.

China yesterday said that it halted the Indian pilgrims who enter Tibet through the Nathu La pass “for safety reasons” in perspective of the border issue.

“China urges India to instantly withdraw its border watches that have crossed the boundary and have a careful examination of this matter,” Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Geng Shuang said.

“The Indian border guards crossed the boundary in the Sikkim segment of the China-India border and entered the region of China, and deterred ordinary activities of Chinese wilderness drives in the Donglang territory as of late, and the Chinese side has taken counter-measures,” he said in an announcement the previous evening.
