New Delhi : Former cricketer and two-time BJP MP Chetan Chauhan has been appointed as National Institute of Fashion Technology’s chairperson. Unlike the outrage at actor Gajendra Chauhan’s appointment as chief of Pune’s Film and Technology Institute of India (FTII), Chauhan’s decoration has evoked humour on Twitter. Chauhan has a variety of job roles to stay busy with. He owns a printing press, he works with the BCCI and even operates a cricket academy. Who could have imagined that Chauhan will suddenly be announced as the head of NIFT one fine day!
“My fashion sense is not being flamboyant but well dressed. I am not dashing fashion-oriented because I have to go with what suits my age. But I like to dress up smartly and well,” he told this newspaper. The former chairperson of NIFT was Kiran Dhingra, a retired IAS officer and the role of the institute’s chairperson involves making administrative and financial decisions.
Chauhan says he got the role because of his “experience in banking.” And Twitter users can’t stop laughing. Meanwhile many people criticize on twitter.
