UP: Eight detained in Mirzapur for attacking tourists
LUCKNOW: Nearly eight persons were detained on Monday on allegations of molesting and physically assaulting French tourists in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district.
As per the reports, one Indian tourist wounded in his head whereas a foreign national underwent scratches.
Cops stated, the French nationals were not attacked by the accused who had got into an argument with their Indian friends.
The victims including Riya Dutta, Tanya and Mili and their uncle went to Lakhani Dari waterfall in Mirzapur along with their French friends when the incident took place.
When all of them were coming back after finishing their trip few boys allegedly physically assaulted them.
“When we protested to the misbehaving, they started hitting us. A tussle took place and they left the scene. But when we came outside they returned with a bunch of others, in total 12 people, and started throwing stones at us and hit us with sticks,” said Ms. Dutta.
As per Mirzapur Superintendent of Police Ashish Tiwari, the culprits were holding cold drink bottles and lathis.
The case has been filed against the accused under relevant Sections 147, 336, 323, 504, 354 and 511 of the IPC.
The culprit has been found as Imran, Deepak Kumar and Prabhat, Abhishek Yadav, Krishna Yadav, Vivek Kesari, Ravi Kumar and Jai Kishen. All of them belong from Varanasi.
Pipe explosion at New York hub, culprit in custody
Bangladesh based man carried out bomb explosion at a New York customer center on Monday. The attacker himself got injured in the attack. The culprit was found as Akayed Ullah. He along with other cop officer had undergone several injuries.
Ullah belongs from Bangladeshi city of Chittagong, the country’s police chief affirmed. He came to Bangladesh on September 8, he added.
He made use of a pipe bomb to attack the people on Monday. Earlier, the attacks were held on September 11 year 2001 that takes the lives of over 2,750 people in New York and at least 3,000 people dead in the attack at World Trade Center explosion that took place on February 26 in year 1993.
The videos of incident have gone viral on the social media. It displayed smolder and a man lying in the tunnel that links Times Square subway station and the bus station.
The bus terminal was closed down for the time being and traffic at Manhattan was stopped. Following prior disturbance, subway train service was closed down.
As per the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, more than 200,000 people make use of Times Square station every day.
The explosion took place less than two months following an Uzbek refugee takes the lives of nearly eight people. It was reported that the attack was carried out by Islamic State.
A man wounded 31 people in the month of September last year during the attack in Chelsea district of New York.
