Cash crunch saves girl from Human Trafficking


ALWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization decision which has created a lot of problems for the common people has saved a 21-year-old girl from being pushed into the flesh trade in Alwar district on Wednesday.
A deal with an agent to sell the girl was finalized by the girl’s brother and a cousin, they decided to sell their sister for Rs 20 lakh in cash. But the agent did not have new currency notes and offered to pay by cheque.

“The girl during a heated argument which was going on between her brothers and the agent, sneaked out and fled from the place. She rushed to a police station and sought our help,” said Alwar additional SP Paras Jain.

Jain guided a woman constable to take the young lady to the ladies’ police headquarters and record her announcement. “The young lady is an occupant of Sawai Madhopur area and was brought here by her cousin and sibling on the affection of going to a companion’s gathering in Haryana. She was conveyed to the bus stand where an operator came to take her away,” Jain said.

The young lady told police that her dad and sibling have been included in the substance exchange for quite a long while. “Her cousin came to live with her family six months back and he requested that the young lady’s dad offer his girl for Rs 20 lakh. The guardians concurred and sent their young lady to Alwar,” police said.

The young lady got twist of their goals when they landed at Alwar bus stand. Exploiting the fight between the specialist and sibling, she fled and reached the ASP’s office.

“Sawai Madhopur police are sending a group to bring down the announcement of the young lady and start a test. Two woman constables, as well, are coming to Alwar to take the young lady and record their announcements,” police said. The young lady has advised police she wouldn’t like to do a reversal to her parent’s home as she was routinely subjected to cruel treatment there.
