The Border Security Force (BSF), in two separate incidents, has recovered 26 kg of heroin along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Amritsar sector, a senior official said on Thursday. The seized consignment is worth Rs 130 crore in the international market.
In recent times, there has been a spurt in reports of drug smuggling and anti-national activities along the border area.
A few days ago, the BSF seized two kilograms of heroin in Ferozepur sector. Operational guidelines were issued to all sectors and battalions for strengthening the border domination.
Earlier, eight kilograms of heroin was seized from a person at the India-Pakistanborder in Abohar sector. A China-made pistol was also seized from him.
