Bowler Steven Finn replaces wounded Woakes in England team


The International Cricket Council announced on Sunday that Bowler Steven Finn will replace wounded Chris Woakes in England’s Champions Trophy 2017 team.

During match with Bangladesh, England player Woakes clinched eight-wicket over Bangladesh in their starting game of the tournament. The reports revealed that the player will not play for around four to six weeks due to the injury. He may also miss the England’s Test series against South Africa team.

Steven Finn has made their existence in 68 One-Day Internationals, achieved 102 wickets at an average of 29.37. He was included in the England team for the Champions trophy that has already started. He then achieved 3 wickets for 54 runs and 2 wickets for 49 runs in the matches against South Africa.

With David Willey neglecting to awe in the one open door he got against South Africa at Lord’s, Finn might be the favored seamer in the playing XI nearby Mark Wood, Jake Ball, Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes.

Bangladesh lost the match by eight wickets in their first game against England. Now, England will face offNew Zealand in Cardiff on Tuesday.

England involves strong bowlers including Jake Ball, Mark Wood, David Willey, Liam Plunkett, Ben Stokes. However, it appears like Finn would grab a position in the Playing XI easily, particularly in England next match against New Zealand, a win in which would secure their semi-last spot.
