Bollywood Actor Tom Alter Passed Away At 67, Celebs Pay Tribute


Hollywood Actor Tom Alter died at the age of 67 on Saturday due to skin cancer at his Mumbai residence. When celebrities came to know about his death, several celebrities mourned on twitter.

President of India Ram Nath Kovind gave a loving send-off to the actor on social media. On Twitter Rishi Kapoor shared, “RIP. My friend and colleague Tom Alter. Bless you!”

Anil Kapoor wrote, “Back in the day, I even studied acting under him. You will be missed dearly #TomAlter.”

Director Mahesh Bhatt wrote, “Goodbye to you my trusted friend!! Actor Tom Alter, a Padma Shri awardee, dies of cancer at 67.”

Riteish Deshmukh shared, “he will always remember him for his humility and kindness.”

Apart from them, many other celebrities involving Huma Qureshi, Nimrat Kaur and Mohit Chauhan shared their condolences to him on social media.

Tom Alter studied at Woodstock School in Mussoorie and took graduation from Film and Television Institute of India in Pune.

The renowned actor Tom Alter was seen in more than 300 films. He is recognized for his outstanding role in Shatranj Ke Khiladi and Kranti film. Apart from him, he had also worked in movies Aashiqui, Junoon, Parinda, Ram Teri Ganga Maili and Gandhi.

Actor Tom Alter also worked in Hollywood movies involving One Night with the King with Peter O’Toole.

Apart from it, he was seen in TV shows Zabaan Sambhalke, Betaal Pachisi,  Bharat Ek Khoj,  Captain Vyom, Shaktimaan. He was honored with Padma Shri award in year 2008.

Tom Alter tied knot with Carol Evans in year 1977. He used to live along with his family members Jamie and Afshaan.
