Nagpur: On Sunday evening in Maharashtra two persons killed and six others went missing following a boat capsized on the Vena River in Nagpur district.

As per officials from Kalmeshwar Tahsil office, on Sunday evening eight boys from Nagpur had gone to Vena River for a picnic close Chichbhavan village of Kalmeshwar Taluka. Three villagers, who provided boat to these boys, were also on the boat when the mishap occurred.

When the boat capsized, all the three villagers directed to swim, but the boys could not swim. A police sub inspector posted at Kalmeshwar police station informed that, two dead bodies have been recovered but the six others are still missing.

We fear that they also drowned but we will have to remain for the recovery of their bodies. One of the departed boys was recognized as Rahul Jadhav, a resident of Wadi area of Nagpur.
