Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revealed these plans at a meeting of the BJP parliamentary party on Tuesday.

“Mr. Modi spoke on two issues… one is related to the fact that the last two sessions [of Parliament] have seen increasing debate and work being done. This means MPs should now concentrate on reading up on the issues coming up in Parliament and try to raise the levels of public discourse. The second is related to celebrating the 70{+t}{+h}anniversary of Independence,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said.

Sources said, “Mr. Modi wanted something that was visible and would help foster the spirit of nationalism in the younger generation.”

“Mood is good. Keep it up. But observe caution,” Mr. Modi told the party leaders.
