Following the resignation of Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, PM Narendra took decision to reshuffle it’s Cabinet on Tuesday. Now, Textile Minister Smriti Irani was given extra task of the Information & Broadcast Ministry and Narendra Tomar received responsibility for Urban Development ministry.
Currently, Tomar handles Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. In year 2016, a Cabinet was reshuffled when Tomar and Irani positions were changed. Earlier, Prakash Javdekar was made the HRD Minister and Tomar was given extra duty of Minister of Mines.
Recently, Venkaiah Naidu was chosen as the NDA nominee for the coming vice presidential election that will take place in the month of August. During the BJP parliamentary party meeting, the decision to nominate Naidu was taken. PM Narendra Modi was seemingly not ready on permitting Naidu to leave his Cabinet. But, Amit Shah move forwarded his nomination stating that BJP requires an qualified hand in the Rajya Sabha.
Venkaih Naidu stated, “I feel like I am leaving my mother. BJP has always been a mother to me.”
Several ministers including PM Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, veteran leaders Murli Manohar Joshi and L K Advani accompanied Naidu at the time of lodging of his nomination papers at the Parliament on Tuesday.
