Bijnore: Police officials have conveyed on Friday that, four persons were killed and at least 12 wounded in a clash flanked by two communities here following a schoolgirl was allegedly harassed by some persons. The occurrence in Peda village took place at around 8.15 a.m., with cluster of the two communities hurling stones at each other, the police conveyed, adding there was even firing between the clashing squads.
The police officer has also further conveyed that, four persons, aged between 27 and 30, were killed in the conflict whereas at least 12 others were wounded. Five critically offended were taken to Meerut for treatment. The indicted fled the village subsequent to the incident. Eight women related to them have been arrested for questioning.
According to police, the girl was on her way to school when she was allegedly harassed by some youth belonging to some other community. A passerby objected to this and was beaten up by the accused. Police has also further conveyed that, he then said some persons about the occurrence and soon a clash commenced. There were reports of arson also.
Heavy police force has been deployed in the area in view of the occurrence. DGP S Javeed Ahmed conveyed that the condition was under control and ADG (Law and Order) was at the spot, observing the developments. An official released has conveyed that, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav declared a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the family of each of the departed and Rs 5 lakh to the wounded. He also warned of strict action next to those originate guilty.
