MADHUBANI: Two people were captured today and 160 containers of Indian Made Foreign Liquor seized from them around the local area police headquarters region of Bihar’s Madhubani region.
Administrator of Police Deepak Barnwal said the police assaulted one Jaihind Sah and seized 135 containers of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Rs. 3.09 lakh worth of money from his home situated at Laheriaganj region of the town.
The attack was completed after the data given by Raj Kumar Yadav, a van driver, who was captured in the morning with 25 containers of alcohol in his vehicle from the same region, SP Barnwal said.
Both Jaihind and Raj have been captured for having and transporting alcohol infringing upon Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act 2016, the SP said, including the van has likewise been seized.
An aggregate of 1,450 liters of outside alcohol were put away in 160 containers whose esteem is evaluated to associate with Rs. 30 lakh, SP Barnwal said.
The state government had on Gandhi Jayanti informed the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 banning fabricate, exchange, stockpiling, transportation, ownership, deal and utilization of alcohol and IMFL through stringent arrangements consolidated under the law.
According to the new alcohol law, both the people could draw in a base 10 years of prison term which may stretch out to detainment forever adjacent to a base fine of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh.
