Bihar Topper Scam : Former BSEB Chief, Wife Arrested


New Delhi :  In connection with the topper scam the Former Bihar Board chairmen and his wife Usha Singh was arrested by the Special Investigation Team on Monday.The SIT Chief had claimed that Usha Singh was also involved in this racket, Following which a manhunt was launched to nab her.

According to the news agency ANI reports The Ex-Chief Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh and wife Usha Singh were arrested by the team.

Lalkeshwar had been evading arrest since resigning from the post on June 8.

A Patna court had issued warrants of arrest against the couple on June 15 after the police declared Prasad an absconder.

Both Lalkeshwar and Usha are non-FIR accused in the toppers’ scam. Usha is a former JD-U legislator who did not get a ticket this time around.

The scam broke out after a video went viral showing BSEB Arts stream topper Ruby Roy pronouncing political science as ‘prodigal science’. When asked further, she said the subject was related to cookery. Another topper (Science) Saurabh Shreshtha could not answer basic questions related to his subject. Both were students of Vishun Roy College in Vaishali.
