Bihar: Danapur Durg Express train hijacked by Maoists near Bhalui station, no casualty


PATNA: Maoists hijacked bihar bound train 13288 Danapur Durg Express at 2:30 AM in the Lakhisarai district of Bihar near the Bhalui station on Thursday, a CRPF official stated.

They even set ablaze mobile tower setup in the area on Thursday.

No one has got injured or dead, a CRPF statement asserted.

The CRPF stated that train attendant who was on duty was also kidnapped.

It added, The gunfire between 207 CoBRA battalion of CRPF and the hijackers is in process.

“The hijackers have burgled the weapons of CRPF and it seemed that firing was intended at ransacking the arms and ammunition,” Amitabh Kumar Das stated.

Prior on June 13, Maoists targeted a train Dhanbad-Patna Intercity Express (13331) close to Jamui. They hijacked the train and burgled the ammunitions of CRPF. During that time, the driver and few passengers witnessed firing in the attack, the reports said.
