Nearly five labourers lost their lives and nine others were wounded in Gopalganj district of Bihar on Wednesday following a blast occurred at a boiler at Sasamusa sugar mill.
As per the reports, the owner of mill has been detained while nine workers faced injuries in the incident, Gopalganj district government hospital superintendent Shashikant Mishra asserted.
The tolls of death victim are likely to increase as several workers are still ensnared within the mill.
The search operation into the matter is in process. The rumors are doing round that the boiler blasted because of overheating. Nearly 100 workers were on duty at the time of the casualty.
Earlier this year, a huge explosion occurred at the state-run power giant NTPC’s Unchahar plant in Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli district on November 1 that takes the lives of at least 43 and wounded more than 100.
The explosion took place in a 500 MW boiler unit on the Lucknow-Allahabad highway. Several people were ensnared when the fire occurred in the boiler.
The Centre had demanded an investigation by the NTPC’s executive director into the issue whereas the state administration demanded a magisterial investigation.
The National Human Rights Commission had given notice to the Uttar Pradesh government over the fatalities.
