New Delhi: The administration will begin its second and last period of BharatNet venture on Monday (13 November, 2017)- – with a cost of around Rs 34,000 crore – to give fast broadband in all panchayats by March 2019, Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan said on Sunday.
Under the venture, the administration means to associate 1.5 lakh panchayats through 10 lakh kilometers of extra optical fiber and offer transmission capacity to telecom players at about 75 percent less expensive cost for broadband and wifi benefits in rustic ranges.
“We will tomorrow dispatch stage 2 of BharatNet to associate 1.5 lakh gram panchayats with rapid broadband by March 2019. Stage 1 of the venture, under which 1 lakh GPs were to.
