Bengaluru: Van driver who fled with Rs 1.37 cr arrested


Bengaluru: The Bengaluru city police on Tuesday, a week after the Bengaluru ATM cash heist, arrested the main culprit and van driver Dominic Selvaraj Roy, who had fled away with Rs 1.37 crore.

The accused was arrested by the police from KR Puram area in Bengaluru.

The accused recognized as Dominic, was employed as the van driver of a logistics agency, fled away with Rs 1.37 crore cash collected from bank on November 24, when two other employees had gone to attend the nature’s call.

Dominic’s wife Evelyn was arrested by the police from a hideout at Banaswadi in Bengaluru and had recovered Rs 79.8 lakh from her.

A day after the heist, the van, which was utilized by Dominic amid the heist was discovered relinquished at Vasanthnagar in the city. The police discovered Rs 45 lakh, all in Rs 2,000 division notes, and a rifle lying untouched in the van.
