Subsequent to the death of Deputy Superintendent of Police M.K. Ganapathy, Bengaluru City Development Minister K.J. George resigned from workplace. On July 7 Ganapathy, previous to his death, had asserted that Mr. George and two IPS officers had annoyed him. Mr. George’s resignation came almost immediately subsequent to a JMFC court in Madikeri prearranged the police to register an FIR alongside the Minister and the two IPS officers. The BJP and the Janata Dal had booth the happening in the State legislature, insisting Mr. George’s resignation and action next to the IPS officers.
But the State administration decline to grant it. On Monday evening although, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is study to have choosen to seek Mr. George’s resignation subsequent to asseting a gathering of senior Ministers. Sources have also further conveyed that, the course by the Madikeri court to catalog an FIR subsequent to Mr. George made his position untenable, and superior Ministers felt that he must step downward till he gets a clean chit in the case. He further conveyed that, my scruples is clear. But I have quit willingly to make way for an unbiased probe,” Mr. George conveyed sources that, subsequent to presenting his resignation to the Chief Minister. He, though had also further conveyed that, “he will seek lawful remedy and take suitable action after consulting legal experts.” Mr. Siddaramaiah confirmed to sources that the resignation had been accepted. Healso conveyed that, “there was no require for resignation, but Mr. George has given it voluntarily on moral grounds”. The Governor has on the recommendation of the Chief Minister conventional the resignation of Mr. George. It is learnt that IPS officers A. M. Prasad (ADGP, Intelligence) and Pronab Mohanty (IGP, Lokayukta) may be asked to go on leave, till the probe is completed.
