Rio Olympic Silver Medallist PV Sindhu defeated 19-year-old Chinese player Chen Yu Fei in the women’s singles semi-final of the Badminton World Championship on Saturday.
Sindhu beat Chinese player by 21-13, 21-10 in only 48 minutes of the game. She took a lead in the game against the opponent player and made a record.
In year 2013 and 2014, PV Sindhu clinched bronze medal at the World Championships. In the next game, she will play against Japanese Nozomi Okuhara in the final game. Prior, Okuhara beat Saina by 12-21, 21-17, 21-10 to become the first Japanese to enter the women’s singles final of the World Championships.
In the semi-final of game, PV Sindhu started the innings, Chen take a lead by 3-1 but later PV Sindhu match the level by 3-3.
In the initial game, Chen conquered Sindhu to reach higher level and taking a lead by 7-4. PV Sindhu strike with her strategy of hitting Chen’s game and makes score equal by 7-7.
After the break, Rio Olympics silver-medallist takes a lead by 13-8 against Chen.
Chen clinched 13-18 score but other fault from the Chinese assisted Sindhu to take a lead by 19-13.
PV Sindhu hit the strong smashes into corner at Chen to create 314kph winner down the line and reach to the final.
