Atleast four killed in heavy firing along LoC in Pakistan, two wounded in J&K


ISLAMABAD/JAMMU: Nearly four people including two girls and a teenage boy died in a heavy firing along LoC on Saturday.

Around two people were wounded when Pakistani army continued heavy firing on civilian areas along the LoC in Sunderbani and Nowshera sectors of Rajouri district.

Several people were killed in a heavy firing across the Keri sector of Charhoi tehsil in the southern Kotli district of POK.

Kotli assistant commisioner Raja Mohammad Arif said, "Shelling started at about 9.45 am. The shelling was heavy, but intermittent. They (Indians) are hitting the areas randomly."

The reports revealed that the firing also occurred in Pakistani village of Samahni and Barnala tehsil of Bhimber district along the LoC.

Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said, "Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation from 1030 hrs. Our troops gave befitting reply."
