Assam Floods: City under water


Assam: On Wednesday flood in Assam worsened the situation, as the toll increase to 13, and much of the state stay under water. Sources conveyed that, the Brahmaputra river and its offshoot flooded numerous districts and Kaziranga National Park was almost completely inundated. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal balanced the state’s Assembly Budget meeting for two days and asked all representatives to visit their constituencies to help with relief operations. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has guaranteed Sonowal of all help from the Centre.

The flood situation is dangerous. More areas have been inundated. The Brahmaputra water-level is increasing every hour. On Wednesday three more persons have died.  Sonowal conveyed that, I have asked all the MLAs to rush to their respective constituencies and help the civil administration in rescue and relief operations. He also declared Rs 4 lakh aid to families of those who have died in the floods. More than 1.3 lakh people have been stimulated to relief camps in 21 districts in the state, as the Army, National and State Disaster Response Force personnel are assisting save and relief efforts. More than 16 lakh people have been exaggerated by the floods in the state.
