Arun Jaitley visits forward areas; praises troops for their grit


SRINAGAR: Assuring troops that whole nation was behind them, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley went to the forward regions at stake of Control (LoC) in the north Kashmir today.

Mr Jaitley, who is here to seat a two-day fourteenth Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council meeting from yesterday, was given a nitty gritty brief by senior Army officers on May 17 when he touched base here.

A Defense Ministry representative said Mr Jaitley today went by the forward ranges in Rampur Sector of North Kashmir. Joined by GOC of Baramulla based division, Maj Gen RP Kalita, the Defense Minister communicated with the troops and adulated their coarseness, assurance and sacrificial support of the country.
