There is an atmosphere of tremendous turmoil in the telecom sector at this time. The reason for this is the call termination usage charge of TRAI. Jio has started charging IUC charges from its users. For which users will have to pay 6 paise per minute. However, users have been told that TRAI will reduce IUC on 1 January 2020. But now it does not seem to be happening.
TRAI gave a big blow to live users
TRAI has currently reduced the IUC charge to 6 paise per minute. In which only Jio is currently taking charge from customers. It was expected that TRAI will reduce this charge to zero on 1 January 2020 next year. But now it does not seem to happen. TRAI is considering postponing the IUC charge to zero for the next 2 years. With this decision of TRAI, Jio can give a big blow to the users.
As per Telecom Talk report, Financial Express report states that TRAI will continue the 6 paise per minute IUC charge for another 2 years. Which will be started from 1 January 2020. Earlier IUC was being talked about to reduce the charge. But given the current situation in the telecom industry, TRAI has to maintain the IUC charge.
Call charges to be given for 2 years
On Wednesday, Jio announced that it would charge its customers with an IUC rate of 6 paise per minute to call other networks. However, it was also said that after January 1, 2020, unlimited free calls will be made available back to the users. But now TRAI will pay 6 paise per minute for IUC charges for the next 2 years, paying more attention to all companies. Due to this, Jio users will have to pay a call charge of 6 paise per minute for a long time.
