Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro are set to launch on Tuesday, August 20, in India. These are some of the most anticipated Realme phones this year as these are the company's first set of quad camera smartphones. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has been revealing some key details about the two new phones such as the fact that the Realme 5 Pro will be the first 48MP quad camera phone to launch in India. As for the Realme 5, Sheth has now confirmed that it will be priced under Rs 10,000.
In a recent tweet, Sheth mentioned that the Realme 5 will be the "world's 1st quad camera smartphone under 10k in India." This confirms a previous report by 91Mobiles, which said that the Realme 5 will fall under the Rs 10,000 bracket. More specifically, the Realme 5 is said to launch in India starting at Rs 8,999, which would be similar to the launch price of the Realme 3.
In addition to confirming that the Realme 3 will be priced under Rs 10,000, the Realme India CEO also said that a "powerful Qualcomm chipset will launch in India for the first time." We expect this to be the Snapdragon 665 SoC as it has been spotted on a Geekbench listing previously for the Realme 5. We are yet to see a phone with this chipset in India, but next week we will likely see two new smartphones with the Snapdragon 665 chip - following the Realme 5, Xiaomi will launch the Mi A3 in India on August 21.
