Virat Kohli has added yet another feather to his illustrious cap as the flamboyant batsman and scored 4000 runs in ODIs as captain during his third innings during the third one-day international cricket match against Australia. He is the fourth Indian captain to achieve this feat.
Kohli needed 27 runs to achieve this feat. It was his 66th ODI match and 63th in captaincy form. In this way, he became the captain who reached AT this position in the shortest period of time. Indian captains who scored more than 4000 runs in ODIs prior Kohli are Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mohammad Azharuddin and Sourav Ganguly.
In the case of completing 4000 runs as captain in the shortest innings, Kohli broke AB de Villiers's record. This South African batsman achieved this feat in 77 innings.
