India's badminton player Ashmita wins Dubai International Challenge title

Sports| Indian badminton player Ashmita Chahila made the title of Dubai International Challenge with her spectacular performance. India's 19-year-old player defeated Jeon Jui of South Korea in the women's singles final.

Ashmita secured the title of world number -77 in just 33 minutes by defeating 21-19, 21-15 in straight games. This year Ashmita was inducted into the Indian team for the Asian Games. She took part in the mixed team competition.

In the Dubai International Challenge, Ashmita faced the qualifying phase and stepped into the main round and finally won the title. In this tournament, however, Indian male player Shubhankar Dey was defeated in the final. World number-54 Shubhankar defeated Russia's World No.-63 player Vladimir Malkov 10-21, 15-21 in the men's singles finals.
