Some reports identified the suicide bomber and mastermind behind the attack on the Shangri La hotel as Islamic extremist Moulvi Zahran Hashim. He is a terrorist of National Thawheed Jamaat (NTJ) organization. Rampant Maulvi Zahran Hashim was a lecturer and speaker and he was inspired by Dr. Zakir Naik, who is currently the most wanted in India.
According to a report from CNN, Hashim also wanted to attack the Indian High Commission in Colombo earlier this month, but the attack was thwarted.
