A powerful bomb blast in the neighboring country Pakistan's Quetta region killed at least 16 people, while dozens are injured in Friday morning, police said.
The explosion took place at the vegetable market, which was full of crowd. The police said the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device that had been hidden among the vegetables in the market.
According to the Pakistani media, the rescue operation is still underway and the injured are being taken to the hospital. According to Quetta's DIG Abdul Razzak Cheema, this attack was to target the Hazara community.
Of the 16 dead people, 8 are reported to the Hazor community only. According to the DIG, the number of people who died would increase further.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has also condemned the blast and assured the assistance of the Chief Minister of the province. Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal has ordered an investigation, condemning the blast.
