More than 2700 people died in US drone attack in Pakistan

The US has attacked by 409 drone strikes since January 2004 by targeting terrorists and extremists within Pakistan. In these attacks, 2,714 people have been killed while 728 others have been injured.

According to the news published on Friday in Dawn, the CIA operated these drones were attacked in Bajaur, Bannu, Hangu, Khyber, Khurram, Mohmand, North Waziristan, Naushki, Orekzai and South Waziristan. The most drone attacks occurred between 2008 and 2012 during the reign of Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

From the sources of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), the newspaper has written that during this period, 336 air strikes occurred in which 2,282 people died and 658 were injured. Officials said that in 2010 there were 117 attacks in which 775 people were killed.

During the tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMA-L), 65 drones attacked from 2013 to 2018. Of these, 301 people were killed while 70 others were injured. In 2018, two drones attacked in which one person was killed. Tehrik-e-Pakistan's top leadership was killed in a similar drone strike. Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansoor was also killed in a similar drone attack.
