At least 31 people were killed and 400 others injured as a massive rainstorm hit several villages in southern Nepal, officials said Monday. Official confirmed that 27 people were killed in Bara district and 4 people were killed in Parsa district.

According to the news agency ANI, Nepal Army spokesman Yama Prasad Dakhal told that two helicopters have been deployed to deal with the emergency situation. In the Simara area, the army is also ready to deal with the situation. Over 100 Army personnel have been deployed in areas affected by rain and storm. Rescue and relief work is in underway.
