International| Is Pakistan stepping back from the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav and trying to strengthen India's stand? Looks like that, is the case. Pakistan has voted in favor of a decision in the International Court last week. Actually, this case of Kulbhushan Jadhav has been referred to India. In this case, India's position in Jadhav case is being considered to be strong.

In the matter of not giving diplomatic access to Indian citizen Jadhav, who was sentenced to death for alleged espionage in Pakistan, India has given the reference of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in relation to the 2004 Avena and other Mexican citizens. In this case, the US proved to be accused of violating the Vienna Convention. In this case, diplomatic immunity to Mexico was not given to its citizens, who were sentenced to death. Pakistan last week voted in support of the United Nations' proposal with 68 other countries, including India, which said that the implementation of ICON's Avena Judgment is fully and immediate. Significantly, even after 14 years, the US has not yet implemented the ICJ order.

Significantly, ICJ is the main judicial branch of the United Nations. In the ICJ, the Jadhav case is to be heard in February 2019, till the last verdict, Pakistan had put Jadhav on death sentence. Official sources say that India will also raise the issue of Pakistan's vote in support of Avena Judgment before ICJ.
