National: The dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections have been announced. The Chief Election Commissioner gave a press conference and informed that this time elections will be held in 7 phases. Code of Conduct came into effect with the announcement of the election program. During his press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has also said that the code of conduct is applicable on social media too.
He said that all social media platforms must be informed before posting advertisement of any political parties during this period. Only after giving permission will they be able to do this. Google and Facebook have asked the Election Commission to identify such advertisers.
In addition to controlling Fake News and Hate Speech, social media platforms have been asked to appoint an officer. Election Commission has also given information about some applications and digital portals for the general public and parties. One such web portal 'solution' will be for the general public. These portals will be for feedback.
The Chief Election Commissioner has also informed that an app will also be launched at this time, on which any Madadar can record the violation of any rule with the camera and send it to the Commission directly. Similarly, the 'Convenience' app will be available for different parties. Using this application, party representatives, candidates and election agents can apply for various purposes for the purpose of election.
